Come join us!

We currently have positions available for highly motivated individuals with interests in cellular immunology and neuroimmunology.

Postdoctoral Fellows: The Hemmers lab at Duke University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the Department of Integrative Immunobiology. Individuals with a background in immunology, single cell computational biology, neurobiology, or molecular biology are highly encouraged to apply. Candidates should have strong laboratory and analytical skills and have an interest/experience in working with mouse models. Ideal candidates will be self-driven, creative, and highly collaborative. If you are interested in being part of our growing highly dynamic and diverse team of scientists studying T cell biology utilizing a wide variety of cellular immunology, transcriptomics, imaging, and mouse genetic approaches, please send a cover letter with a description of your research interests and past experience, CV, and contact information for references to Saskia Hemmers (saskia.hemmers@duke.edu).

Research Technicians: Are you about to graduate from college and want to explore full-time research before applying to graduate school? We are looking for highly motivated individuals that can commit to at least two years of research contribution. You will learn how to work with mice, isolate cells from various tissues, perform cellular analysis by flow cytometry, and immunofluorescent imaging. You also have the opportunity to audit graduate student level immunology classes and try your hand in some computational data analysis. If you are looking for a supportive environment and are interested in joining our small lab to contribute to our research, please send an email to Saskia Hemmers (saskia.hemmers@duke.edu).

Graduate Students: Interested Duke graduate students should contact Dr. Hemmers to set up a meeting to discuss research projects and a potential lab rotation. The lab is currently affiliated with the following PhD programs: Immunology (IMM), Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB), and the University Program in Genetics and Genomics (UPGG). For general information about joining a graduate program at Duke and how to apply, please inquire here.

Undergraduates: We currently do not have openings for undergraduates in the lab. We usually post projects for summer research experiences on Muser. Please check back when new projects are posted for Summer 2024.
